I was wondering if anyone knew of any Hibachi restaurants nearby? Back home, I ate at one called 'Kyoto' like twice a week. I have been looking for one since I've lived here!!!! Someone help.

Also called yaki-nikku, which is Korean bbq. Some good ones here in Iwakuni, most notably Jon-jakka and Gyu-kaku. Not sure about Yoko.

cguidry24, is this the one you referred?

    http://www.kyotosteakhouse.com/

If your answer is "yes", this isn't what so called "Hibachi Restaurant" in Japan. It's called Teppan-Yaki. (FLSimages is correct.)

There are another kind of restaurant which sometimes called "Hibachi Restaurant", but that is in another category. (A style in Izakaya category, a similar one as Robata-yaki.)

If what you want is Teppan-yaki, Benihana is the founder of the category. As FLSimages said, they started this style in U.S., and then imported to Japan. So this style is very very minor here in Japan. Most Japanese perople don't think this is Japanese food.
Benihana may be the best in the category. But they are only at downtown Tokyo.

    http://www.benihana.jp/

There are another style of cook which is also called "Teppan-yaki", but founded in Japan. That is kind of "Okonomi-yaki" restaurant.

There are some Okonomi-yaki style Teppan-yaki restaurant in Yokosuka, but no American style Teppan-yaki.

Closest choise is probably "Nadaman Takehana-tei" at InterContinental Yokohama Grand hotel.

    http://www.interconti.co.jp/yokoham...index.html

Nadaman at Yokohama InterContinental hotel offer 4 styles. You can't see Teppan-yaki style picture in InterContinental hotel's web site, but you can see the restaurant's web site. See URL below. Large picture changes like slide-show and wait for the 4th picture, that may be what you want, don't you?

    http://www.nadaman.co.jp/yokohama/index.htm

You should have to pay attention there are 2 "Nadaman" restaurant at Yokohama. One is at InterContinental hotel which offer Teppan-yaki, and the other is at Takashimaya department store which DOESN'T offer Teppan-yaki.

There's a fairly new Okonomiyaki and Teppanyaki place near the Shiori Station.  It's about half a block from the station, walking away from the Daie.  It has tons of flags and banners in front, you can't miss it.  I haven't been there though.  The pictures look yummy.
