What do you do with your beloved pet when you go on vacation?

We have two dogs and hate to put them in the kennel on base.  We have an ongoing agreement with s/one right now to watch our dogs when we go on vacation and we watch her dog when she goes on vacation.  It has worked out great in the past!  She watched our dogs last year when we went to northern Japan and we watched her dog while she took several ski vacations this winter.  It's a win win for e/body and has worked out great for e/one (including the dogs!).  Unfortunately, our dogs are going to lose their little buddy because his owner got orders to go to Europe and will be leaving in a couple months.

We're looking for someone to take their place.  We usually travel during the off season, so we're usually available to watch your dog during peak season (when the kids are off from school).  We also prefer to find someone with a small dog (under 25 pds).  We'll need s/one that lives on the main base in Yokosuka, Negishi, or Ikego.

We live off base, but have a large yard (by Japanese standards) and a sun room that we use as the doggy play room.  We also have a doggy door that leads to the back yard so the dogs can go in and out when they please.  This doggy door fits into the sliders in the town homes on base and we would be happy to loan it to you while you watch our dogs.

Both our dogs are well trained.  They are super sweet and full of personality.  They are also crate trained and sleep in their crate every night.  They don't have any bad habits other than giving you lots of kisses (s/time too much!).  Ralphy loves to play fetch and go on walks.  Tippy is my little cuddle buddy and loves to sleep under her blanky.

So, if you're interested, please send me a private message!

Very cute yoko.. I wish I could help. If I could have pets at our rental property, I would have some of my own. They wont allow any.

"This doggy door fits into the sliders in the town homes on base..."

Unable to help, unfortunately. But I would love to know where you got the door that fits into the on-base sliders....

    Loki,

We bought ours before we moved here off eBay.  You can also buy it from Amazon.com, but I don't know if they will ship it here because of the size:

    http://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-Small-Deluxe-Panel-Sliding/dp/B0002I0FAK/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1268889088&sr=8-15

They are adjustable and fit into most sliding glass doors in base housing.  We also found many homes off base that they fit into.  It's the best investment we ever made for our dogs!  We love it!
