Do you support or oppose the Health Care Bill?
    Yes, I support it (5)
     31%
No, I do not support it (11)
     69%
Every day we read or watch the news and hear "American's are against this bill" or "American's want this bill".  Well which is it?  No need to debate, flame, or even say what you voted for.  I'm just curious whether people here are supporting or opposed to the Health Care Bill.  Please, keep any discussion civilized, even better, just hit yes or no =)

Gotta discuss. Sorry, can't help myself. I'm a rabid partisan.

It was as popular as the administration would have you believe.... it'd be a done deal months ago. The GOP have never been in a position to stop it, and the main stumbling block are within the democratic party itself. Anyone aware of our political system can tell you the same thing, if they are being honest about it.

Has any social program of the governments EVER worked half as well as advertised? Have they EVER come in at the cost advertised? Medicare? Medicaid? Welfare? Food stamps? Fannie Mae? Freddie Mac? Amtrack?

Just because there is a problem, and there is, doesn't mean that government ownership of it will correct the issues. It never has. Once this "right" is conceded, you can bet there will be other "rights" created.

Reform the insurance laws to allow crossing state-lines, remove pre-existing condition limitations and implement tort reform. THOSE are the things jacking prices higher. Government intervention into actual health CARE isn't going to solve anything.

So... in case you couldn't tell... I voted NO.

I find it hard to decide either way because I don't know what's actually in it. We only know what the media tells us or the parts of meetings they let us see according to their slant.
Comes down to if you can trust the govt in this instance...hm

Loki......you forgot the Post Office, DMV, and Social Security!

I vote "no" on this health care plan......I do hope for health care reform, just not ObamaCare.

    Tammy,

You don't know what's in it because, according to Pelosi, the bill must be passed for us to find out.

Which is her way of saying "Trust me, I promise to only put the tip in!"

Come to think of it... that's EXACTLY what she's saying. lol...

This bill has NOTHING to do with health care. It is about power. It is about turning our citizens into a bunch of sniveling deadbeats expecting the govt to provide. It is about turning our nation from a free nation to a socialist nation.

It is despicable and a pivotal moment in this nation's history. The libs are right this is "historical", but so was the flight of the hindenberg.

Anyone notice the media is detailing the real life impact of the bill a lot more now that is passed? I've seen like 10 stories on how it will actually impact us (not good) since it passed.

During debate they focused on politics and who was blocking it, not what it would do to us.

Maybe its just me, I am a conspiracy theorist.

I would bet that is the case with the majority of people that have commented on the bill in a negative light. Lets see a poll of how many people on JB has even read the provisions of the bill? Before you comment on it take the time to read it first.

And for those of us who have reviewed it and STILL view it as a negative... what line do we stand in?
