Please join us at the front gate at Atsugi Base for the Japanese friendship group. There is usely 30 plus Japanese people who show up from the front gate. We sponsor them on and take them to different places around base. Last week we took them to the NEX Food Court. This week we are meeting at Parcheezie's Pizza. There is always a wide range of people who show up. I know my 3 year old enjoys running around and playing with the kids.  Please come out and support JATA

You are nice. But you've got to be kidding. Going to base eateries? Get off the base and go where they like to go!

I would LOVE to go, but Im all the way in Yokosuka, do they have anything like that here on this base? I would be very interested
And maybe they like the american food on base....just saying, cause I love the Japanese food and get tired of eating American food all day every day. You have to remember they are coming on base for a reason....why not eat american food? its not something they have everyday.

Judging by the loads of pizza, doughnut, and Cinnabon boxes I see locals buying on open base days, I'd say you're right, Alejandra.

There is an International Luncheon group that meets in Yokosuka every month. I haven't managed to get to one yet, but they are meeting tomorrow at Sbarro's in the conference room area from 11-2. They do also have meetings out in town. I think little ones are welcome, but I've sent an e-mail to my friend to make sure.

My friend got back to me about the Yokosuka International Luncheon (and I think I'll be posting the information in the Yokosuka section, too). Kids are welcome!

They're coming on base to see the sights and eat American food, silly.

That's all my friends want to do... drink at the American bars, eat the food, etc etc. It's experiencing something new and foreign to them. The club sounds fun.

Its a great time for social hour. Its a great way for them to learn English. My 3 year old has made so many friends with the Japanese kids. We have 2 ladies taking my family to Hello Kitty Land tomorrow. I love going and think everyone should at least try it out while you here.. I believe that Yokosuka have a JATA group. You should go to your family fleet services and ask them there on base.
