My neighbors suck because they are not very neighborly at all. My family and I have lived here for 7 months and my neighbor has yet to say hello or introduce themselves. I know it should go both ways but when you have a person who makes an effort to turn their head when they see you what's the point. To top it all off, when I had a small get together for my husbands birthday they called security because we were talking too loud on the balcony. It was 10pm on a Saturday night. Had we been proper neighbors and actually met each other then they could have just knocked on my door and asked us to keep it down. Now I'm bitter and don't care to know them. When they leave and new neighbors move in I'll introduce myself and try to make them feel a little bit welcome.

I feel sorry for you guys who live in towers..
Funny thing... I live in a tower off base.  11 stories with neighbors above, below, next door.  And you know what?  It's quiet!! The only time I hear any noise it's people down at the parking lot talking loud, I'm on the 6th floor & I can hear every word. When this happens, it's ALWAYS gaijin.  Never a peep out of the Japanese. I never hear too-loud TV or stereo.  Thank goodness there are only about 4 gaijin families in the building, and really only one of them is loud.  No wonder Japanese don't relish us as neighbors.

Moral of the story... It's not the building that sux, it's the inconsiderate people.

Can't move off base when you have less than a year at the command! It should be more like, Sailor families need to square themselves away and learn some respect! It's only a few in each tower that ruins it for EVERYONE.

I feel sorry for you guys who live in towers..
Why?  I enjoy living in the tower here at Camp Zama.  I've been here over two years and have not once experianced noisey or rude neighbors.  In fact, I have never heard a peep throught the walls or in the hallway.  I mean, I know I have neighbors, but I never see them or hear them. This place is quite, the veiw is great, I don't have to mow the grass and the layout is more open and more "livable" than the town houses. I love it here.  I'll take this over the barking dogs and noisey kids in the townhouses.

If you got kids... keep them in check... especially in the elevators. I really hate seeing EVERY level from the 8th floor down.

Do us ALL a favor, and teach them some etiquette. It's cute the first time. The second is just plain stupid. Don't be THAT Parent (taken from the "Don't Be THAT Guy" slogan).

my neighbors yell at their kids all the time.
and then leave their kids tricycles in the lobby area on our floor...
wth?

my tower [dont know if others] have that ONE cart thats suppose to stay at the tower...
I hate how they never put it back downstairs [outside] where it goes...
they leave it on their floor.

so they make it to where when my husband and i get outta the cab from food shopping..
we have to carry 12 bags of food milk and detergent etc up to my apt...
making it to where my arms are about to fall off.

Yes i am one of those that i will man handle the bags to get them upstairs.
because i know if i leave them downstairs and take trips up and down...
someone will steal my stuff.

my ombudsman was moving into her place [shes stuck in a tower for now...] and she left her car unattended and people stole stuff from it... her crazy nice vacuum cleaner.. etc.

seriously?
so now im terrified someone is going to steal something from me that i may leave unattended.

I have this neighbor, now that I'm in a tower, who seems to throw up at the exact same time every morning. And it's right after I hear their door open, close, and a person walk to the elevator. Dunno what's going on there, but I didn't realize how "thin" the walls are. I never hear their TV, or any music, or them talking, but I can hear them throwing up perfectly clear through my bedroom wall... It's a little gross...

I live in Ikego and my upstairs neighbors suck bc they must be monkeys!! Everyday its the same thing..8am rolls around and the running, jumping, thuds of stuff falling begins. I swear at one point I thought all they played was dance dance revolution!!! OMG!!! And this crap lasts alllll freagin day until 10 at night!! Sometimes even later. I know kids will be kids but geez, why you gotta let them run around like some wild animals. These must be the kids that grow up to tell their parents to shut up bc there was never any discipline.

God!! JUST SIT DOWN ALREADY!!! Gahhhh!!!

Bring the monkeys some bananas (j/k) and ask them nicely if they could not jump around so early. Sometimes just asking may do the trick. They might not know that they are causing that much noise, or they may just not care. One way or another it doesn't hurt to ask.

I remember when I lived inthe towers there my neighbor downstairs asked me to not have my son bang around as much. I didn't realize it because I guess my upstairs neighbors wern't loud and I didn't hear them so I thought the floors were thicker. But they aren't. Also, at the time he was 3 and 4.. He loved to jump off the couch when watching TV. Just asking wouldn't hurt.

I love living in the towers, my kids are pretty quiet.. when they start jumping I remind them not to. I don't think I have anyone above or below me though and the people on both sides of me seem to have been out of town since I moved in. I hope I'm a good neighbor, haven't had anyone come up or down to talk to me!

Although, I did see someone from a few floors up throwing plastic bags off their balcony down to the trash can..... what the heck!?

Don't know if she's a neighbor but I'd like to say something about the large water buffalo who, weary of waiting in line at the Subway, cut in front of me and an eight (nine?) year old girl at the Taco Bell today.

By the time I realize what was happening it was too late.

That and I must honestly admit to fear. This was one lady you didn't want to interfere with in the food obtaining process. A member of the Devil's Own Herd I tell ya.

And then there's the people playing 'Tokyo Drift' outside my apartment right now. Yes, yes it is 3:30 am.

Okay, I take it back.

Tonight, when the punks started peeling out again next to the apartment, they didn't shoot me when I went down there and shushed them.

They came back around the block and asked why.

Of course, prior to that I was down there for an hour and a half, writing down license plate numbers and generally being a damper on the teenage cruising-'roun-the-block time.

After getting my point across in sign language and silly peeling-out-noises, they (I think) understood.  Perhaps we have an agreement.  They don't be really loud outside my window and I won't be the weird gaijin spying on them.
