    Hello All,
What banks will be available for me to use in the Atsugi-Zama area?  I asume that NFCU has something there but, I'm not sure I want to use them. The Credit Union I have now beats them in everything, well except for having branches everywhere. Can anyone recommend any "good or better" financial orgnizations available there.

    Some things I want:
    -online banking
-no fee ATM at several locations maybe several countries
    -Reasonable hours - open late
    -english support
-ability to make electronic transfers to & from my current conus credit union

looking at the list I just made, you will probably think NFCU is the obvious coice, but when I left active duty years ago, I swore to never use them again.  Without getting specific, I never felt like a "valued customer" with NFCU.

    Thanks

There is no NFCU on this base. They have an understanding with the Credit Union here that they will waive the fee for ATM, but if you use them and need to deposit you will have to mail to Yokosuka or else drive there (2200¥ RT) to deposit. There are two options here on the base. Community Bank, or USA Federal Credit Union. You may also have the option if you use USAA for insurance purposes to start an account with them. You can use online banking with them, but will have to mail deposits to them unless you have a credit card with them and then you can scan checks and they will deposit them that way. Hope this helps a bit. I believe that USA Federal Credit Union is on Zama as well.

Yes, USA Federal is also on Camp Zama, however the ATM's are only Community Bank. I would consider Nipponnap's advice and try USAA and all the options. I have had USAA for 14 years and it is great!
