does anyone know the distance between Misawa AB and Yokosuka Naval Base?

its a good 500+ miles. looking at a map of Japan, Misawa is located in Aomori prefecture which located at the top of Honshu (the main island of Japan) while Yokosuka is located at the moth of Tokyo bay.

I have driven it and it takes between 9 and 10 hours from Misawa to Tokyo.

Just curious... How much was the tolls from Misawa to Tokyo? I would imagine it is an outrageously high total...

It's been awhile but if I remember correctly, it is like $120 in tolls one way.

The tolls cost about the same at the cost of a train ride. Unless you need a car down in Yokosuka, I'd recommend the train it will get you there a lot quicker.  Or fly.  If I remember right, all the costs are fairly close.

What we need is a table of distances, time & tolls between the mainland bases. Anyone ever seen anything like that?

Unfortunately distance doesn't really count for much here in Japan.


To drive to Iwakuni from Yokosuka is about 20,000 ¥ in tolls and takes about 11 hours.

To drive to Misawa from Yokosuka is also about 20,000 ¥ in tolls and takes about 10 hours.

The train to both places is between 18,000¥ and 20,000¥ each way unless you do a trip through the ITT with a hotel. (www.hyperdia.com)

From Yokosuka to Atsugi is 2200¥ RT and takes anywhere from 45 minutes with great traffic to 2 hours, depending on the route.
From Yokosuka to Zama is 2200¥ RT and can take from 1 hr to 3 hrs depending on traffic. (Zama and Atsugi are about 30 minutes from each other) depending on the route.
From Yokosuka to Yokota is 2700¥ RT and can take from 1 1/4 hr to 4 hr depending on traffic and also the way you go.
