    Feb. 26, 2010
BZ: Bravo Zulu to Ben Avey from CFAY Public Affairs for arranging a photo
opportunity on the pier in front of USS Washington (CVN 73), for 50 students
from two international schools in Tokyo.

The schools were at Nile C. Kinnick High School for a Model United Nations
    conference.

Ben Avey was very helpful and the George Washington Sailors who briefed the
    students were incredibly knowledgeable.

    Thank you very much!

That was my BZ! Not sure if they posted the other BZ I did. They probably did not since I thanked several folks. I hope it's okay if I put their names here. If not, delete this. SORRY!

The international students got a super-cool tour of the Blue Ridge on Sat., Feb. 13th. They LOVED it and I LOVED that the briefing was geared toward all the work the Navy does here in Asia. Sometimes the thousands and thousands of humanitarian and support operations the USN provides each year towards helping out other countries kinda gets lost in the world news reporting. I was so amazed and impressed when they explained just a fraction of what the USN does to help out other folks in the pacific!!!!

Chief Petty Officer Palmer Pinckney II
    Petty Officer Alexandra Y. Arroyo
    Petty Officer Joshua M. Cassatt
    Petty Officer Marvin E. Thompson
CAPT Pfirrmann (he did a briefing for the students)

Those folks were SO HELPFUL and they did a great job!

Ben Avey is a great job. He is very professional at his work, and I have much respect for him. For most of you that dont know he is the public affairs officer for CFAY. You can on the NEWS section for the website he has written several stories that get posted in the Yokosuka Seahawk Newspaper.
