My husband and I are pcsing soon. Does anyone know if you get an express shipment for some of your things?  I know we got one to get here.
Also, does anyone know how much time is between getting your express shipment and main shipment? I'm assuming its a case by case situation but I thought I'd ask.  We are moving to Virginia.  By the time I moved here both of our shipments were already here.

Every move I've every made, coming from or going overseas, they have always offered this up until a certain poundage, like a 1,000 pounds, something like that.

We also came from VA. Our stuff was picked up s/where around mid June. I think unaccompanied baggage (express shipment) was picked up June 12th and household goods were picked up June 16th. Express shipment got here August 5th. And, our household goods got here August 22nd. From what I recall, it came in about a week earlier than expected.

So, expect your stuff to take on average of 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 months to get here. It worked out fine for us because we were in the Navy Lodge for the first month anyways and we got our stuff about 2 weeks after we moved into our house off base. The loaner furniture from the base wasn't ideal, but it worked just fine for the little time we had it.

    Hope that helps!

You can try it (express shipment), but from my past experience, which is San Diego to here in Yokosuka, it was actually LATER than my normal HHG shipment.. I suggest you just take your most needed things to the local post office, and ship them to your husbands mailing address(base). I promise it will get here pretty fast.

And, where exactly do you think they should mail it to? From her initial post, her and her husband are still here in Japan. If he is still here, they dont have an address to mail it to you in VA yet. We have made several moves, from here to San Diego, SD to South Carolina, then SC to here, and all 3 moves, our Express Shipment arrived several weeks earlier than our HHGs did.
