Can Japanese Barbers Cut Hair Good?

Someone was searching this on the website.. If you know please provide them answers.

My husband prefers going out in town rather than the base. He said they take more time with this hair.. Not like there is that much to cut!! They also give him a face massage and shoulder massage.. Less work on me..

I would prefer to get a haircut off base as there are barbers on every block it seems. I am not sure I could convey what I want though as I don't speak Japanese.

I went once, and they jacked my hair!!! I even had my wife there explaining things, and they still jacked it up..

I had to have a friend fix it for me, who cuts in his free time. They were laughing at me for about a week..

I'm really interested in this. I'm very picky about haircuts, and since i've been here in Japan I haven't been able to find a barber that does my hair exactly how I like. Mainly looking for someone who uses a straight razor to touch up.

Yes they use a straight razor. They even shave you afterwards with a razor.. old fashion way.

I like Maika at the Ikego salon. She works there on Wed, Fri & Sun. I think she works on main base the other days. Now, this is from a female's perspective. I have very short hair, though, and in the past couple of years that I have been going to her, she has seen me through a "growing out" and going back to short (above my ears).
