    Camp vacancies.

Please scroll down for the list of vacant slots for Youth Summer Camp. This list is updated weekly on Friday. Camps may be filled in the interim so for a more accurate vacancy count, we highly recommend visiting or calling us. For information regarding available camps, please call the following numbers:

Yokosuka School Age Care Coordinator @ 241-2948 / Negishi School Age Care Manager @ 242-4131 / Ikego School Age Care Manager @ 246-8301
A Note from our Community Activities Director
MWR still has a number of camp spots available for a wide range of interests and ages. Please scroll down for the full list.

Here is some additional information that might help with your planning...

    1) Camp Adventure Day Camp for Yokosuka is already full for several of the weeks. This doesn't mean your child can't attend this camp. We have a number of open spots in Ikego and can provide transportation daily. Our new SAC Program Director in Ikego is an former Camp Adventure Program Director himself so you are guaranteed someone who is knowledgable with a lot of experience in this progam. Please call 241-2948 or 241-4100 for more details.

    2) Outdoor Adventure Camps are almost entirely full. However, we traditionally have cancellations and pull from waiting lists to fill the vacated spots. It is definitely worth your while to sign-up on a wait list if you have no other camp options that week. Call 241-4100 or 241-2098 for more details.

    3) Same as above, our Youth Sports Camps that are full have waiting lists. Folks are encouraged to use these as Youth Sports Camps also traditionally has cancellations. Although the camps are held in Yokosuka, MWR provides transportation from Negishi and Ikego daily. Call 241-2950 for more details.

    Thanks and enjoy your summer!

Who is eligible to participate in summer camps programs?
Any child entering into the 1st grade through 12th grade and is SOFA sponsored is eligible.

How do I register my child for summer camp registration?
You can register your child for Youth Sports summer camps at the Youth Sports office, Teen summer camps at the Yokosuka Teen center only, and School Age Care summer camps at the site you want your child to attend.

What is the cost of the summer camp programs and when do I make payment?
Payment for all summer camp programs must be made at the time of registration. The cost of each summer camp program depends on the camp. School Age summer camp fees are based on total combined family income. When paying for School Age Program Camps you must pay for the first two weeks at time of registration. Please check the details of each summer camp program on the website for exact fees and details.

*For School Age Program summer camp you must be categorized prior to registration to determine your weekly camp fee. You can visit the Yokosuka Youth Center, Ikego CDC, or the Negishi Youth Center to get categorized. Please bring your most recent LES and current pay stub from spouse’s employer at time of categorization. If you do not get categorized prior to registration you will be asked to pay the highest fee of $108/week/child.

What if I registered for a summer camp and now I have to cancel and need a refund?
Refunds for summer camps must be requested 10 days prior to the first day of the camp you’ve registered for or they will not be granted. If you registered for a School Age summer camp but have not yet paid for it we still need you to file termination paperwork 10 days prior to the start of camp or you will be charged.

Can I register a child from another family for summer camp?
In order to register children from other families you must first receive signed approval from the School Age Coordinator, Lee Leach or Youth Sports Coordinator, Isaiah Mincks. They are both located in the Youth Sports office in the Thew Gym. The signed approval must be presented at time of registration. Approval will not be given on the day of the summer camp registration event May 9th.
