    TYPHOON CONDITION ALERT FOR YOKOSUKA AREA:

    For those of you in the Yokosuka area, we are now in TCCOR 3. TCCOR 2 expected around 0900 Monday morning. Expected landfall midnight Monday/Tuesday night. (TCCOR 3 - destructive winds possible within 48 hours/ TCCOR 2 - destructive winds anticipated within 24 hours.

    All Commander Fleet Activities, Yokosuka military installations are now in Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) III, for Typhoon 10W (FITOW). Destructive winds of force at 50 knots or greater are possible within 48 hours. Residents are advised to secure loose items (bring inside or tie-down); fill vehicles and grill gas tanks. Ensure emergency kits are ready. Move equipment away from windows and ensure sufficient money and important documents are easily accessible.

Move equipment away from windows and ensure sufficient money and important documents are easily accessible.

    All schools aboard CFAY will begin as scheduled on Monday, Aug. 31, but, they may close early based upon progression of the storm.

    CFAY remains at TCCOR 1- Caution, however, out of an abundance of caution all Yokosuka base students will be dismissed from school at 12:30 today. Buses will be operating at the alternate time schedule. 

    Parents should make arrangements accordingly.

    CFAY will continue to operate under normal conditions.

    Please contact your individual command or supervisor for specific instructions.

    "Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka is in TCCOR RECOVERY. Survey teams
    are currently assessing storm damage and clearing danger areas caused by
    storm. Please practice extreme caution until TCCOR ALL CLEAR is
    declared."
