My wife and I are looking for someone to watch our 2 girls on the 13th and 14th. It will be a all nighter while we go to Yokohama to celebrate Valentines Day. Are you free that weekend and can we meet you before that date so we can get to know you and you can meet our girls (8 & 4). I don't want to brag but our girls are the best ever. Very well behaved and well mannered.

My wife and i are always in the market for a baby sitter. We will need a overnight sitter for the Tokyo Marathon at the end of february. we'll be in the new Sanno the the night before and the night of the race.

Sams0nit3- Mondays-Thursdays I have college classes at yokosuka base. Mondays&Wednesdays its 7:30-10:10 PM Tuesdays & Thursdays its 4:40-7:20 PM. Any other days I should be free as long as you contact me ahead of time Thanks for the tip on phone numbers.

LOL I still 'time' how long it takes my son in the male restroom when he goes in there alone.

I'll chat with my husband and get back to you. We'd have to meet you a few times and things like that before we actually hire you for the actual sitting. What can I say I'm trying to get over my over-protectiveness! Then again most people would be if their kid died and was resuscitated.

I am not sure what your days are like during the week from early morning until about 4-430 but I was wondering if you had an age limit? I am going to be having a little girl soon and I am not too excited about leaving her with a bunch of other kids at the CDC during the week when I am at work. Hello Cassie, We will be moving to Yokosuka in late April. We have 2 girls (11,8) and one boy (7). We will be staying in the Navy Lodge until housing is available and will need someone to watch the kids while we attend the Area Orientation Brief (5 days). I think it runs 8:00AM to around 4:30PM. Just an FYI for you. During AOB/ICR, they will have a sign-up sheet the first day, for people to sign up their kids for child care for the entire week of AOB/ICR. You will have to bring your 3 kids with you for that day, and the other days, they will be able to be dropped off at the CDC.

This is my first time using this site, but figured I'd give it a try. I am in my mid-20s, have my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, CPR-PR and First Aid (infants through adults), and have experience with ages 5 weeks through teens (overnights, weekends, multiples). I work during the day, but am available early mornings until 0800, evenings and weekends. I live 10 minutes from base in town, but can babysit in my house or on base (Yokosuka preferably, but could travel to Ikego). While I have experience with all ages, I really enjoy the little ones a few weeks to 5-6 years old. I can also help with homework, housework, etc.

If you have any questions for me please do not hesitate to ask. I would be happy to meet you and your child(ren) in person to see if it's a good fit. I do not speak much Japanese yet (although I'm learning), but do speak French, a little Spanish and a little German. I also teach English and French lessons on the side. Thank you.

I charge flat rat of 7.50 then 1.00 extra for each kid an hour. So usually it would be 7.50 per hour for one, but since you I have to drive over there it would be 8.50 an hour. If that seems too much we can talk about it!

I would be happy to come to your place. My rate is the same whether I come there or you come to my place or we go on a field trip. Bachelor's and Master's??? First Aid and CPR??? That's all nice and everything, but when I was babysitting back in high school, just being a teen was good enough... I feel inadequate now... Here when I got a place I was all for babysitting for people, but if that's what's required for babysitting now.... Sorry, I'll do something else.

really! Thats way too cheap. Thats 50% less than minimum wage. I understand the base sets that rate correct, or is this the standard from CDH providers?

I can do a class to become CPR certified, but not much else... Everything else would take longer than I have time here in Japan.

The base sets that rate, Adam. $5 is for anytime after 5 (or is it 6?) and on weekends.
And technically, if you do babysitting on your own, you aren't allowed to do it more than 10 hours a week.

I love kids. I used to babysit when I was in High School for a few families. I was CPR qualified when I was younger also. Being older now, I agree, I wouldnt allow any HS or even ADULT to watch over my child if they were not CPR qualified at the very MINIMUM! You just never know what may happen, and you would hate for something to happen and the person not know what to do in an emergency. Its just a nervous feeling. I think the best way to choose a babysitter is from references and an interview with the person.

I agree with you Adam. Majority of parents today won't let anyone babysit that isn't CPR certified. I am CPR certified, along with my husband. It just just peace of mind, plain and simple.
