She has already moved. Someone mentioned to me the other day, that she has left, because they were also looking for a quality baby sitter in Japan. I know she received a lot of business from JB.

We dont really have any GO TO people anymore for Yokosuka, Negishi, or Ikego areas.

There is a section on the general classifieds for BABY AND PET SITTERS.
http://www.japanbases.com/buyandsel...fieds.aspx

Most of the ads that are on there, are typically WANT ads, not people willing to babysit.

This brings up another topic, which is HOW MUCH IS A GOOD RATE TO CHARGE? The person I was talking with the other day, only wanted to pay like $6 for 2 kids. I thought that was a little CHEAP. Yes maybe some 13 year old might want to make some decent cash, but I think for 2 kids you should atleast pay $10.. Just sayin...

It would love to find a quality babysitter! I usually pay $5 an hour for my 2 year old son, which I thought was a fare rate, but honestly I would be willing to up that for someone who is responsible/trustworthy!!!

Great idea for Adam's next project on JB.com: A babysitter rating forum. Babysitters would volunteer to be rated by their customers, and would receive scores & ratings. You could learn about reliability and how many phone calls they made from homes of prior customers. It would be strictly voluntary, but if a babysitter chooses not to be rated that speaks for itself. You'd think those with consistently high ratings could start charging premium prices for their reliability and high level of care.

Can I tell you how excited I was to see that FB ad put out by the FFSC (or MWR) cant remember, about the free sittercity service. I quickly signed up and was trying to find Japan and what do you know....they dont have that service for any bases overseas. You would *think* that some of the younger ones on base would post babysitting services but I havent seen any since I have been here? Maybe kids these days dont babysit like they used to. Aside from that Adam I dont know if you saw on one of the FB pages, I think it was a post about school starting, the people started talking about finding babysitters and started asking if anybody could recommend people. I told them to take their inquiries here to JB's to hopefully direct some traffic here and get it going but it doesnt look like anybody took to it. I told them there was a classified area for that and it would be better than posting it on some wall on FB. I wonder why some people still dont know or use this site!
