What is your favorite new burger?
    Texas (2)
     67%
    New York (0)
     0%
    California (0)
     0%
    Hawaiian (1)
     33%

I stopped by my wife's parents house, and they had the new burgers from McDonald's.. I had never seen them before, and wondered if people knew about them.  I don't eat too much fast food off-base, and prefer sit down restaurants.

Anyhow, I believe the new burgers are called "The Hawaiian, "The California", and "The New York" Burgers.

Isnt it funny how Japan uses american names for their burgers.  I may be wrong, and this was possibly a McDonalds corporation decision, I am just saying, Japanese people know these popular tourist locations, and they make Burgers named after them in Japan.

Does anyone know if these same burgers (names I mean) are being sold in the USA?  I doubt it.  Just curious though..

I have not heard of those myself. However, I never seen hotdogs on the B-fast menu either until I got here.

Yes, I do believe that the Japanese are well aware of the hot spots in the US, just as most people in the states can probably only name two places in Japan....yep, you got it.

I doubt they sell them in the US. When we lived in Hawaii the McD's had a lot of burgers they don't carry on the mainland.

Did the Hawaiian had pineapple on it? If so, I know where I'm going for lunch!

According to their website it doesn't have pineapple... I guess they were making it like a LocoMoco burger from Kua-Aina. It does look good though...

http://www.mcdonalds.co.jp/beef/big...index.html if you want to take a look at all four of them.

    Thanks Wilson for the link.

I just went and added a new poll to my original post. Now you can vote which one people like the best..

I took a bite from the New York last night, and it was full of mustard.. I mean a lot! Very messy, but also very good..
I am looking forward to trying some others.

I can tell you, these burgers are not $3.00... I believe they are 500 Yen each just for the burger. So just be aware.

So they are farely new and the base doesnt sell them. I also just called my mom and she said that she hadnt  seen them so thats a no NC.

Our base McD's has a fully American menu and the one outside the gate carries the good stuff .

Loco Moco is good times too! I've been craving it since we left Hawaii anyway! Thanks for sharing!

If you are looking for a great hawaiian burger there is a KUA’AINA in Aka Renga (Red Brick Warehouse) in Yokohama. I think they are the best burgers in Kanagawa!

Second look at the McDonald's website states that the closest place to get the New York burger is only available at the Miharu-chou McD's (out the main gate turn right and stay until you see a big McD's on the left with decent sized play ground out front...also near (not beside..just near) where the Red Lobster was located.

The Hawaiian burger isn't even in Yokosuka you have to go to Zushi for the closest one. It would be the Zushi one located just outside the Zushi JR Train station.

The California Burger is only in Yokohama & Atsugi (for Kanagawa Ken)

The Texas burger is also Yokohama.

TAKE NOTE THAT THESE ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AFTER TODAY (1/8 - 1/11 ONLY)

Found it Adam...it is some small Hawaiian BBQ place. I never heard of it and have spent a lot of time in Hawaii (which isn't saying much...I hate Hawaii so I usually stay in my Hotel room or near the hotel).

    Hawaiian Plate Lunch....

Small? Between them and Yummy's (another similar joint), you can't drive or walk more than 250 yards thru Oahu and not trip over one. Tourists such as you wouldn't know any better, so you're forgiven.

I finally picked up some burgers the other night, and tried them out.

I went to the McDonalds out in town near the Zushi (JR) Train station.

Anyhow, I ordered the New York burger (2) of them.

They were okay. I wont say they were great, but some people make like the mustard flavor.

These are some pictures below of the New York McDonalds Burger:

There is really a Kua'Aina's in Japan?!?!  Sounds like  maybe even two of them?!?  We won't be there until the summer, but that would be such good news!!!   I loved their burgers when I was in Hawaii.

And yes! There is Kua'Aina here. We went to the one in Shibuya a while ago... awesome! I remember the really BIG beer I got there, too. Lol. I think there is 12 locations?

I had a Hawaiian burger the other night. We lived in Hawaii for nearly four years and that burger reminded me nothing of Hawaii! It was all right, I thought maybe it would have a pineapple or mango type of sauce, but it was a heavy BBQ sauce.

I tried the california about on Feb 15th. It wasn't that good. I have tried I think the hawaii and the california. To me, they are just overpriced for what you get. They just use the name of usa states to promote the product. Does anyone know if they sell these actually in the usa?

I also just had the Texas one recently... WAYYYY better than the Hawaiian burger, but I'd rather stick with the old favourites if I have to eat Mickey D's.

I looked around some on the sites for other countries and it seems like these burgers are just in Japan.

I think it's supposed to be scambled eggs. It didn't taste like it.

From McDonalds's Japanese web page translated with Google:
The familiar pasta, "carbonara" in the chicken. Sources nice creamy cheese and black pepper flavors, entangled in a soft chicken breast meat, and was immediately Suchimubanzu black is kneaded, melted Innovation Toro scrambled eggs, bacon sandwich with mozzarella. カルボナーラが楽しめる「アイコンチキン カルボナーラ」です。 Enjoy carbonara "carbonara Aikonchikin" is.

McDonalds used the names of USA locations to draw attention to the Japanese. These burgers were Japanese campaigns!

They are Chicken Sandwiches, part of their iCon Chicken campaign. I wanted to try the Carbonara one, but I guess I am glad I didn't! I did try the Cheese Fondue sandwich though and actually enjoyed that one. It was the first one of the promotion.
