Anyone been to the new Burger King on Blue Street? I went with my kid and we ordered the Whopper combo and the double Whopper combo. Not bad, but the total was 1800(+) Yen! Yikes!! Thank God I'm an American. I love Japan but that is way too much for fast food burgers in my opinion. I know I have choices-  I just wanted to TRY it once....and now I'm done.

And before anyone posts about all the great food in Japan- yes, I am aware. I just wanted to try thier version of Americana. That's all.

I pass by there a few times, but ever stopped in yet. I was going to take photos during the grand opening. I have to say, they picked an EXCELLENT location for the burger king. But you never know what will happen in the future. Look what just happened to the Wendy's being shut down.

I agree about location. But, there was some other business there before Burger King, so who knows. As far as Wendy's goes it's not a big surprise to me. I've been there and it wasn't great, which means it was probably really bad to the locals. Perhaps if we could get an In and Out or a Chik-fil-A!!

Or a White Castle... I think putting a Burger King in Yokosuka was a great idea, I know several people that used to make the trip up to Yokota just for Burger King. And I think the Quality of the food is head and shoulders above any BK I ate at in the states. Doesn't justify the price, but I don't mind using some of my COLA on it.
Warning: Eventually, I WILL say something that offends you. This is perfectly normal. My recommendation: get over it.

    I vote for a chick-fil-a too, please.

We've been to the Burger King a couple times, and I honestly didn't notice the price difference... I guess I'm just getting used to Japanese prices. But yeah, compared to even Mickey D's back on base it's a little $$$.

I think it's almost a carbon copy of the States, not much is different. There is a few different choices besides it being kinda limited but it's all good. And hey, the bourbon special they have now is awesome. Where can you get an actual bourbon and coke/ginger ale at a fast food restaurant in America? They obviously paid close attention to the European chains than the American ones. Ha ha.

So if you're looking for a total American taste out in town... Burger King is a place to go.

Don't forget about the Heineken beer available for an additional 150 yen per each valve meal!  I love Japan. Fact of the matter in the states beer is not offered is probably because of the workers and not the patrons. Sad but true.

I recommend Burger King at least once (if you eat fast food). I've had Japanese in American so it's not that chiche. Yes, I still acknowledge the superb local places....

Yes, the beer, of course. I love it. I love that adults seem to have more choices here than they do in the US. Doing away with flavoured tobacco, anyone? Ahem, anyway.

I almost think we can't have beer in the US at places like BK because of the activist groups... parents will complain... think of the children, etc etc. Employees, yeah, too another problem.

So thank you Japanese BK for taking after the European ones and not the States, lol. And yes, the Whopper is almost 100% the same. Yahoo.

My husband has tried it. He says it's quite good. Though it is quite pricey. I may try it, but It'll be like going to Krispy Kreme, it's so expensive I'll go once a year.

Obviously it's not 100s of dollars for a hamburger, but since I can cook a whole meal for less than the price it would take to feed my family (for fast food) I'll pass.

In 1973 we had about three possibilities for an "American Style Fast Food Fix". There was a MsDonalds in Yokohama, a Mister Dunut in Oppama and for a drive out to Enoshima, there was a KFC. Onbase you made do with offerings by the NEX (gaggggg). It was a big incentive for developing a liking for Japanese food.

Ahh Chik-Fil-A! How i love Chick-Fil-A! Alas, my husband actually wrote to them asking if they could open one here on base but all they said was "we have no plans to go international". I think the being closed on Sundays might pose a problem for them here.

    I WOULD KILL FOR A CHICK-FIL-A here!!

Wendy's is gone, but who knows for how long. Just a few years ago Burger King was here (yes before) and they went bankrupt so I am hoping they stick around this time. I think before the problem was too many locations (practically one at each train station (JR)). They are pricey...but they are good. I hate that they no longer have the BK breakfast selections...but who knows maybe that will return too.

Krispy Kreme is closer now too...Yokohama isn't that far to go. Personally I don't like them...I hate sweets, but maybe some of you didn't know it had opened in Yokohama so hope you are happier.

And did I mention, I would kill for a Chick-Fil-A!

Remember... Wendy's stopped ALL operations in Japan, not just this location. There is, at this moment, no chance of the "how long" being anything other than permanent.

You know what I THINK is gonna go in there? A McDonalds. There is no off-base McD's on this side of town (you know what I mean) and you know how the JN's got to have one of those every 500 yards.

    Me? I'm different. I want an L&L....

Part time workers in the US are usually underage, therefore not able to serve alcohol. That would be the reason.

I had the Black Pepper Whopper the other day (representing Malayasian tastes) and it is Delicious. It sort of resembles the Pepper Lunch beef flavor.

I've been to the BK on Blue Street once. It was back when they were having the Windows 7 Whopper. I'd go more often if that was a regular menu item.

I ate at the Burger King on blue street. I'm a big fan of the whopper back home so I had to try these specialty whoppers hear. I had the Italian Whopper and the Bourbon Whopper. The Italian Whopper was basically a whopper with Pizza sauce on it. I thought it was pretty good even though it confused my mouth a little bit. The Bourbon whopper wasn't anything to write home about though. It tasted okay but nothing special. I did figure out you could have gotten the specialty whoppers as whopper jr's.

I had one to about a week ago. It was actually my first time going to Burger King on Blue Street. Not a big fan, but decided to try them out. This burger wasnt that great. I should of just had a plain ole whopper.

It's difficult to beat the original. I wish I would have tried the Angry Whopper while they had it. I think a spicy Whopper with the Volcano sauce from Taco Bell would be pretty tasty.
