Negishi Heights consists of 311 wood frame homes and one senior officer concrete home. The homes widely vary from single or two story, and are configured from single to quadplexes. Homes have steam heat and wall mounted air conditioners, carpeted floors and fenced yards. Waterbeds are not allowed in two story homes. Due to narrow stairs, queen-size box springs may not fit. Two domesticated pets are allowed. All pets must be registered with the Yokosuka Vetenarian Office.

Negishi Heights is located in Yokohama and has an elementary school, preschool, chapel, child care, maxi-mart (a small Exchange and Commissary), theater, pool, and night club. Negishi Heights has relatively large green areas and offers convenient access to Yokohama and Tokyo. Living conditions resemble those in a small American town.

Home-to-work shuttle buses (no fee) run from Negishi Heights to Yokosuka in the morning and return in the evening, and following extra curricular events at the High School. Negishi Heights can be reached in 30 to 50 minutes by toll road, at a cost of about $16, and in 40 to 60 minutes by surface (non-toll) roads. Japanese public transportation involves riding two trains and either buses or taxis, with a minimum cost of about $7.
