Personal attacks should be left out of these forums. I get that we all are different people and have different opinions, but I get tired of reading through all the garbage people post about one another.

I have asked myself that question so many times...why can't we just be nice and get along. Or at least be polite. It's much easier to be nice than rude!
Yes I get that people have their opinions...that's one of the great things about the USA. But I also agree about the personal attacks..that doesn't really help your argument.(whatever one may be arguing at the time) I think that just makes you look bad.

I thought of this thread yesterday when I couldn't get into the office supply aisle at the NEX because of the herd of sailors shooting the poop in it. They were also oblivious to the NEX associate trying to get in there to stock the shelves. She had to say, "Excuse me," a couple of times before they noticed her there with her ginormous cart of stuff.

I have been reading your posts for quite some time. You are a character!

*laughs* I ran into a group of these "wives" pretty hard with my stroller because I was trying to quickly get my things and get out. Taught them a lesson But seriously, when I do this (talking with a buddy), I go into the aisle out of the main flow of traffic. I see that as common curtesy. Shopping for ladies IS a social event. Especially when you are on a small base because you see people all the time and you just can't ignore them.

And for the kids running around...I HATE THAT! I have a little one now (6mo). So I'm sure I'm gonna do the "GET OVER HERE RIGHT NOW" mom scream, but seriously people watch your kids. If I run them over, it's not my fault. Watch them. That's your job as a parent. And if they are throwing a temper tantrum, take them to the bathroom and tell them that is not approrpriate behavior and if they can't act appropriately you go home. I saw a mom leave a whole cart full of groceries because she had to do this. It's more important to teach your children the right lessons versus getting your shopping done. You can always go back shopping, but you can't get that moment back to teach the right thing.

And I know this post isn't about sailor's swearing, but really guys....I want to take a bar of soap to all those young sailors and their fility mouths. Why do you have to talk that way? What's the reason? I can't see a postitive reason for talking in that manner. The only time I talk that way is when I'm very angry. But really I should be learning to control my anger and handle it in a better manner. Would you talk that way in front of your parents? Your grandparents? Your children? The president? Talk like that in private (that means your home not your job. Your job is a public place). And learn some manners.

The language, ah ha. I have a dirty mouth but I know when and where to use it. With friends and drinking? Cool. Middle of the comm for the kids to overhear? Not cool.

I don't mind a potty mouth, but I'll give you the side-eye when you don't understand when it's okay to talk that way or not.

So don't hate the Sailors for their mouths, just the disrespectful ones (goes for the teens and kids on base... okay, everyone).

What ever happened to move to the right and give some right of way. Common courtesy. Thats all. Problem easily solved.
