half japanese/ecuadorian with both nationalities :)
i just got my account here and i am looking for a job on base.
i really dont understand the process for someone that is not affiliated with the Yokosuka base to get a job and i would like to know what is the process for a foreign national.

what type of job do i qualify for? :confused:
i speak spanish (native level), english (have been learning it for years) and japanese (conversational level)

do anybody recommend me what is the best path to get a job onbase?? :ermm:

HRO on the main base hold postings for many positions for foreign nationals. I can't remember when, but they were talking about moving the board at one time. Last I had heard, it was in the office where you get id card passes, but it may have already moved elsewhere. I'm sure that if it has, someone there might be able to tell you where. Jobs you qualify for will depend on what you have done in the past. There are jobs that are technical in which you would need qualifications, but also jobs waitressing where you might not need as much of a background since it's something that can be learned. The best way is to proceed to the ISO office at the base main gate and inquire about current positions for Master Labor Contract and/or Indirect Hire Agreement positions. Just ask one of the security officers to direct you to the ISO office for employment information.

You can also go to http://hro.cnfj.navy.mil/ and click on MLC/IHA links.

You can also pick up applications for MWR jobs at the MWR HR Office on main base, their office is near the Video Shop just down from Starbucks!

Jo, since she doesn't have an id card, she wouldn't be able to go there. The ISO office will hold those postings for MWR as well.
