I have seen a couple post about how expensive Japanese Theater is. and I agree it is expensive compare with base or states prices.
But does everyone know theater has discount? Yes, it is still expensive, but I would like to share these information.

Hey guys,

About 2 months ago I Jailbroke my Apple TV 2. I really liked it but all the content was pay to watch. After learning more about the benefits of XBMC I decided to make the switch. The software took about 10 min to load and after that I was all ready to go. I then purchased some software called Firecore that put all sorts of neat goodies on my main interface. The biggest one you'll need is XBMC. After that you'll have to install plugins for all your favorite networks like ESPN, PBS, BBC and my favorite 1Channel. Load up your plugin and you'll enjoy all the movies, TV shows and live TV programs. Currently I have about 20 networks live streaming in pretty good quality. I want to share this everyone because I think it's like the best thing that could every happen to those outside the US. Also take your Apple TV with you and all you'll need is an internet connection along with a TV to plug the box into.

Cirque Dreams World Tour

Does anyone use Netflix here in Japan? How well does the mailing service work? Should I get the basic plan, or upgrade to multiple movies at one time? Also, has anyone been able to get the Netflix instant viewing to work? Are there special problems for this off base due to Japanese IP address? Thanks!

FWIW, I've heard there will be NO movie theater in Iwakuni starting next year until a new one is built, maybe 2013 or later. Having something like Netflix would be a good alternative.

Well first off, I just wanted to tell people the movie theater section is coming out fantastic. I think people will really find it useful.

Anyhow, I am going to use this thread to ask the community questions, because I dont know everything and will need your help when I am building it.

First, other than Yokosuka, what bases have more than 1 theater.

I was looking at Sasebo's listings, and I notice they have

SHOWBOAT and HARIO VILLAGE.

So is this 2 different theaters? What is SHOWBOAT?

Thanks everyone. I'm sure I will have more questions, when it comes to the Okinawa bases.

But if anyone knows of top, all the bases that have more than 1 that will be helpful.

Benny Decker and Fleet Theater Issues

I've been to both theaters 2 times each in the past 2 months. I used to order Nachos each time I would come.

Well the past few trips I would walk up and they said no they were out of stock.
I took it as an understanding customer and just thought to ask the next time. Well again it happened again. Same answer. Then again, they said it was too late to make. I was a little pissed with that answer but still just let it go.

I am sitting in the fleet theater as I type this to you. I just went to the window to order nachos. He said, oh we don't have that right. 5th time in a row being told no. I though this time to ask, "why" since he seemed like a nice enough guy. I was just told we aren't serving it because it takes too much time....

Hmmmm..... Too much time.

Is this what we decide for anything that takes time, just stop serving it?

I am fine if they don't want to serve it, but they do have them, it just takes too much time to prepare.

I really am confused by these answers I've received the last 5 trips asking for the exact same item.

They could of simply said, sorry sir we don't carry it anymore, and I would of been happy with the answer. Not once did they say that. It was either it was out of stock, too late to prepare, or it takes too long.

wow. just wow.

How something so idiotic and stupid ever made it to the big screen is beyond me. This movie was just so awful I can't even begin to describe how terrible it was.

You could tell when they were trying to be funny or throw in innuendos but it was just so not funny. And I mean NO ONE laughed. Not one LOL moment the entire movie- from anyone. The theater was silent. I want my hour and half and popcorn money back. What a waste. The kids didn't even think it was funny.

Just got done watching the moving "Salt" tonight.

Interesting plot and twist throughout the entire movie.

I think Angelina Jolie is a great actress. She did an amazing job, and who ever was her stunt double did a great job also. There was a lot of action scenes.

It feels like at the end, they are preparing for "Salt 2"

I enjoyed it overall.

Ok, so I waited for this movie to come out on DVD. Overall, I was disappointed. The original was much better....so it didn't have all the special effects.

It really bugged me that Perseus wouldn't use the sword given to him by his father Zeus. What's up with that! You have this great sword.....use it! Perseus (actor) just didn't fit the role of "demi-god" champion. Fisherman suited him better.

Don't want to make this long so I'm out.
