It's current purpose is to bring all spouses without children under one "roof" in hopes to build friendships and be there for each other during difficult times.

Hi all! It's that time for another meet-up --this time a night out. It will be for adults as there will be alcohol involved --so get those babysitters secured!

I want to hold it at the Y290 Izakaya that is located on Blue Street. The menu is on a touch screen (they have English!) and it's large with something for everyone. They do have set menus but since EVERYTHING on the menu is Y290 we may want to go with a la carte.

As of now I want to ~~tentatively~~ set it for FRIDAY, NOV 11th at 1900/7 PM. I will lock in a date very soon so everyone can plan. So please let me know if you're interested, have any input or questions! I'll make sure to keep this thread updated (as I eventually will need a count closer to the date to make reservations).

Note: For anyone new to Japan or not familiar with Izakayas --Izakayas are places for friends, family and coworkers to meet up for a night out that could last well into the morning as they're open late (or should I say early!). Dishes are small and meant to be shared with everyone at the table. So throughout the night you will order dishes a few at a time along with drinks and keep the rhythm going until you've had enough! Ha ha. It's very fun and laid back --and also the perfect chance to try something new you've never tasted before!

Mens Breakfast near Camp Zama

I am having a men's breakfast at my home near Camp Zama(5 minute walk from Soubudaimae station South Exit) on Saturday August 20th from 9am-11am. Nothing major just some pancakes , french toast etc.... It is open to anyone interested, Japanese or American, Military and non military. I am a pastor/church planter and in the future will be having some more "Christian" type events but this breakfast will be a short and simple get together for men in the area that are interested in having a bite to eat and getting to know one another.

Negishi Dog Park - Anyone want to meet up s/time for a puppy play date?

It was a beautiful day out yesterday, so my husband and I decided to drive up to Negishi to check out their dog park. It took about 20 minutes for us to drive there from our house, so I'm guessing it would be about a 45 minute drive from the main base. The dog park is located near the back gate up on a hill. It's a fairly good size, w/ a bench to relax on. Right outside the gate, there's a HUGE park. There were lots of families out enjoying the beautiful, sunny weather. There's also a running / walking track that circles the park.

The only thing that was disappointing was the fact that there weren't any other dogs in the dog park (on base). My little guy loves his canine friends and really wanted s/one to play w/. The dog parks that we went to in Virginia Beach were always full of dogs.....not so much here. Anyway, I'd like to schedule a doggy play date s/time maybe next weekend if the weather is nice. We can either meet at the dog park in Negishi or Umi no Koen (about 20 minutes from the base). I don't really care for the dog park located on Yokosuka Base....it's small and usually overgrown w/ weeds. The dog park on base is unleashed, but your dog must be on a leash off base.

If a/one is interested, let me know! And, let me know when a good time would be to meet up. Ralphy and Tippy will be waiting!
